This small production of 2017 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a fruit forward blend of some of our favorite blocks from the Estate vineyard. The combination of hillside and bench land vines add to the complexity of the wine. The nose reveals black cherry, licorice, violets, crushed lavender, and baking spice. The combination of plum and vanilla on the palate give way to more savory notes of mocha and sage transitioning to a nice long finish. This wine can be enjoyed immediately but will also benefit from a little time in the cellar as well.
The 2018 Vine Cliff Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color. It prances out of the glass with scents of stewed plums, warm cassis, bay leaves and cedar chest. Suggestions of cinnamon stick and sandalwood with a waft of tobacco leaf rounds out the nose. The medium to full-bodied palate is coated with juicy black fruits and a plush texture; offering oaky accents and a herbal lift to finish.
